At Shaftesbury School we are committed to providing a caring environment for all, so that we can work, learn and socialise in a secure environment. Everyone has the right to be treated as an individual, with respect and to feel safe.
Bullying of any kind is unacceptable and will not be tolerated in our school community. Students have the right to be able to come to school without fear of being victimised, intimidated or isolated.
We want all of our young people to have a sense of belonging in our school and we take all incidents of bullying very seriously. We acknowledge that bullying does happen from time to time in school, as it does in every school. This does not mean it is acceptable and we work with our young people and community to overcome it. It should not be a barrier to school life. When it does occur, we want everyone to feel safe enough to report it to a trusted person and reassure everyone that incidents will be dealt with promptly and effectively.
Our vision is for students to ‘be the best that they can be‘ and we support our young people with this by ensuring they know they can talk to us and we can work through incidents together.
